Roxas tilted his head to one side, staring at his best friend, he didn’t really understand Axel’s initial reaction to seeing him, but he figured it best to leave it be.  ”Well, how do you turn back to normal?  Do you know how?  Does Xion know about this yet?”

Axel thought for a moment, “The grayface said I have to wait it out for one week.” the redhead smiled warmly at Roxas, glad he could have his best friend back, “But who’s Xion…?” The man felt a weird sense of- not sadness, obviously, but… something. “I think the name’s familiar… did we meet her on a mission?”

“Yeah… of course you’re fine.” The redhead chuckled softly, if somewhat nervously, “And this grayfaced man had come up to me and turned me into a woman. I thought it was some sort of Heartless, but… I don’t know…”

Roxas smiled, if he could, he thought he’d probably feel proud about another mission completed properly.  He was about to head back to the Castle That Never Was when a familiar shade of red caught his eye, he turned to see his best friend, Axel.

He smiled and ran towards the taller boy, “hey, Axel!  You wanna go get some ice-cream wi-” he stopped when he reached them, realising that he had been wrong thinking it was Axel.  It was a girl, “o-oh, sorry,” he muttered.

Axel’s eyes widened as he stared at the blonde, “…Roxas…?”

Unbelievable. Axel was expecting some beautiful reunion that, if it were possible, would bring the two to tears. He never thought that he’d look like a woman when they met again.

“What… are you sorry for?”

The redhead stood silently, his (her?) now slim figure walking through the shadows.

She wasn’t going to give up yet, not when she knew Roxas was out there somewhere, be it inside his somebody or not, she had to find him, or die trying. Her gender wasn’t going to change that fact.
